Description:
Borton was contracted to construct one (1) 74’ inside diameter
x 234’ high coal silo with drilled caissons, caisson cap foundation,
overhead bin bottom with slip form column supports, lean concrete
with 3/16” stainless steel liners and four structural hoppers
embedded in concrete bin bottom. Construction was completed
while the Antelope Mine remained in full operation, processing,
storing and loading unit trains without interruption.
