Borden's
stainless steel storage tanks
|
Owner:
Borden Chemical
Description:
Borton
constructed this resin plant with a formaldehyde addition
for Borden Chemical in Hope, Arkansas. Stainless steel was
used extensively throughout the facility along with miles
of pipe. On the loading side of the facility, the urea pellets
arrive in a railroad car, the material is dumped and conveyed
to a hopper for processing. On the other side of the facility,
trucks pull onto a scale as they enter the yard and then
proceed to the truck loading driveway. Gauges located throughout
the facility are connected electronically to the computerized
heart of this complex. From a control monitor, the operator
can watch raw materials arrive and their progress. The resin
is observed and monitored for quality control continuously.
When a truck is ready to be loaded, the operator can compute
the required material quantity by gallons or by weight.
